What ingredients are in Homemade Salsa?

  • Canned Tomatoes: I suggest using canned tomatoes with no additives such as herbs an spices.
  • Cilantro: I like to remove as many stems as possible and just throw the cilantro leaves into the blender. This adds so much freshness to this easy salsa recipe!
  • Jalapeno: This adds the perfect amount of heat and spice to the salsa. If you want a less spicy salsa, I suggest removing the seeds and membrane in the center of the jalapeno.
  • Diced Green Chilies: These green chilies add flavor without a lot of heat. You can buy them in mild or hot.
  • White or Green Onions: By using sliced green onions, you get flavor without being as overpowering as a white or yellow onion.
  • Chopped Roma Tomato: By using freshly diced roma tomatoes, it adds more fresh flavor to the salsa and also adds some chunks.
  • Salt: Make sure to generously salt the salsa to bring out the flavors of the ingredients.
